Roumelight at New York Design Center for SuppArting Students
Art can help students and the architect of the program SuppArting Students Mr. Vasileios Roumeliotis participates in a big series of events from 8th to 29th November 2015 in New York to advocate for the program SuppArting Students in Thessaloniki.
SuppArting students is a social project aiming to help students who are unable to secure daily school lunches, through art. The purpose of this program is to collect funds from the sale of artwork from 67 contributing artists from Greece and elsewhere. The 67 artists donated a variety of artworks such as paintings, digital paintings, sculptures, light art, comics, collages,engravings, metal and wooden creations for a series of art exhibits in the United States.
The Greek Cultural Center, the Academy of Hellenic Paideia, the Federation of Hellenic Societies of Greater New York cooperate with the Hellenic Relief Foundation in this effort. All nets proceeds are managed by the Hellenic Relief Foundation and will be used to purchase school meals for 300 undernourished students in 25 primary schools of Thessaloniki.
